Memories from sunny Spain! Some time ago team from YoWo joined a Youth Exchange “Be Ocean My Friend” – a project aiming to raise awareness, educate and build European networks on environmental issues related to the territory of the Cabo de Gata Park.
For a week participants were exploring the beauty of nature and looking for ways to protect it in the most efficient way.
Check out some memories of participants from our team:
“Can you imagine a place so beautiful that the biggest sleeper gets up at 5 am to see the sunrise? Cabo de Gata is one of them, so it was a pure pleasure to clean local beaches while discovering what an important element of the local ecosystem they are. Discovering the underwater depths, quiet evenings in a nice, international group, away from everyday duties and the challenges that await us every day will remain in my memory for a long time” – Karolina
“The project was a true success. Many things surprised me very positively. I myself was the first time on YE and looking back how many wonderful people I have met, I could not count on my fingers. All very nice, great food and accommodation. In one word, AWESOME” – Hubert
“Great place, wonderful people, delicious cuisine! In addition to visiting a new country, I met a lot of inspiring people from all over Europe. Even if the project has already ended, I hope that our acquaintances will continue and that we will meet in the future on the path of life” – Maja
“I experienced many things on this trip for the first time! Would I decide to go knowing what I am signing up for? Sure I would! After all, it is unusual to have the opportunity to meet such inspiring people, admire the sunrise in Cabo de Gata or dive along the shore of the island. It was nice to come back to our organized, planned Poland, but I miss this weather, the atmosphere all the time, I am in favor of getting to know each other’s cultures and I am glad that this trip mobilized me to completely new activities. Hope to see you on the next project!” – Angela
